Chairman of the Supreme Political Council meets the Minister of Tourism

Chairman of the Supreme Political Council President. Saleh Alsammad, has met today with H.E. Mr. Nasir Bagazgouz – the Minister of Tourism.

During the meeting, the ministry's programs and a list activities together with the current year work plan have been reviewed, in addition to the possible solutions for the obstacles that tourism sector is suffering and facing due to the continuation of the aggression and siege.

The escalation of Saudi/UAE led-coalition aggression and its targeting of tourism facilities and archeological sites, were also discussed during the meeting and the imposed air, sea and land blockade which negatively affected the tourism sector and deprived the country of billions of dollars. What's more, the ministry's efforts in collecting the revenues which will help to enhance the tourism development.

President Alsammad has confirmed the role of the ministry to contact with the relevant international organizations, and to put all efforts to gain an international position against the targeting of humanitarian and cultural legacy and destructing of tourism facilities and institutions. He also praised the steadfastness with the staff of the ministry and their care to perform their duties despite the continuation of aggression and siege, and stressed on the necessity to find alternatives to activate the performance in the tourism sector.
